P0279 Injector Circuit low (Cylinder 7) — Causes & Fix

What Does P0279 Mean?

P0279 is a generic OBD-II code meaning the Engine Control Unit measured a signal voltage below the expected window in the fuel injector circuit for cylinder 7. A 'low' circuit reading usually points to a short to ground or an injector coil with too little resistance. The ECU will often disable fuel delivery to cylinder 7 to protect the driver stage, so the engine runs with a dead cylinder until the fault is repaired.
