Reconditioned Diesel Injectors

A reconditioned diesel injector is a tested, calibrated and cylinder-balanced unit, restored to the same flow and spray-pattern spec the OEM ships its new injectors at. It is the most cost-effective way to bring a high-mileage common-rail engine back to running condition without paying new-part prices, and it ships UK-wide with a 12-month warranty.

Every injector listed here is reconditioned in-house against a master flow rig — Bosch EPS 815, Delphi YDT-385 or Denso EPS 200 depending on family — and shipped with the calibration code, the spray-pattern image, and the test sheet.

What ‘reconditioned’ means in the trade

Reconditioning is the umbrella term for the full restoration of a used diesel injector back to its OEM operating specification. It includes:

  • Strip-down and multi-stage ultrasonic cleaning of every internal component.
  • Inspection of the casing for cracks, corrosion and thread damage — failed cores are rejected.
  • Replacement of every wear part: nozzle, control valve, ball-seat, springs, seals, copper washer.
  • Recalibration on a master rig against the OEM flow curve.
  • Cylinder-balance check against the other injectors in the set.
  • Final spray-pattern verification at full rail pressure.

The casing and main body are reused, but only after passing dimensional checks. Every part that has carried fuel, current or moving load is replaced new.

Why reconditioning is the right call for high-mileage diesels

Modern common-rail injectors run at pressures of 1800–2500 bar with hydraulic tolerances of 1–2 microns. A new replacement set for a 2.0-litre engine often costs £1,200–£1,600. A reconditioned set delivers the same in-service behaviour at 40–55% of that cost — and with a calibrated test sheet that proves the part is performing inside the OEM window.

For taxis, vans, fleet vehicles and personal cars past 150,000 miles, reconditioning is the standard path back to OEM running condition. The economics rarely justify new at that mileage, and the risk profile of used is too high.

“Reconditioned diesel injectors near me” — UK-wide stock, same-day dispatch

We stock reconditioned injectors across all four major OEM suppliers (Bosch, Delphi, Denso, Siemens VDO) and dispatch from a UK warehouse with same-day cut-off at 2 pm. In practice that means most parts of the UK receive next-working-day delivery without you needing a local specialist to be open. Free UK delivery is standard on every order.

If you would prefer to bring cores in person we accept walk-in core exchanges by prior appointment. The reconditioning turnaround on bench-stock cores is 48–72 hours.

Warranty & what to expect after fitting

Every reconditioned injector is covered by a 12-month, no-usage-cap warranty. Cylinder balance, idle smoothness and full-load delivery are all in spec on the day it ships.

After fitting, the workshop must write the printed calibration code into the ECU using the manufacturer-specific tool. Without coding, expect a rough idle and a stored fault code within 24 hours — this is not an injector defect, it is the ECU running on the factory's default flow curve instead of the one we calibrated this unit to.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between reconditioned and remanufactured injectors?

In day-to-day workshop language they describe the same product: a used injector restored to OEM spec with all wear parts replaced and the calibration re-baselined. ‘Reconditioned’ is more common in UK trade vocabulary; ‘remanufactured’ in international or supplier-side vocabulary. We use them as synonyms when the product carries a 12-month warranty and a printed test sheet.

Where can I find reconditioned diesel injectors near me?

We ship UK-wide with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 2 pm, so ‘near me’ effectively means anywhere in the UK with next-working-day delivery. You can also bring cores in person by appointment if you prefer face-to-face exchange.

How much do reconditioned diesel injectors cost compared to new?

Typically 40–60% of new-part cost. A new Bosch CRIN injector for a Mercedes Sprinter is around £350; the reconditioned equivalent is £140–£180. Multiply by four cylinders and the saving on a full set runs into four figures.

Do reconditioned injectors come with a warranty?

Yes — a 12-month warranty on every reconditioned unit, covering manufacturing defect and calibration drift outside the OEM spec window. There is no usage cap and no registration paperwork required.

Can a reconditioned injector be fitted to any diesel engine?

Reconditioned injectors are produced against a specific OEM part number — fitment is by part number or vehicle registration, not by engine size alone. Use our registration lookup or the injector finder to confirm the exact part for your engine before ordering.

How long does diesel injector reconditioning take if I send my cores?

Standard turnaround is 48–72 working hours from receipt of cores. We bench-test on arrival and confirm whether reconditioning is economic before any work starts. If a core is unrepairable we will quote a like-for-like exchange unit instead.
